Microsoft Power Automate is a service that helps you create automated workflows between your favorite apps and services to synchronize files, get notifications, collect data and more. Power Automate brings together over 170 applications, websites, and services to streamline your workspace. The main types of flows are automatedbuttonscheduled, and business process flows.

Power Automate is available to all current or future university faculty and staff, as well as current students. If you are experiencing issues with Microsoft Power Automate, please email microsoft365@austin.utexas.edu.

Once licensed, you can login to Power Automate at https://make.powerautomate.com/.

Getting Started

Flow Types

You can create three main types of flow:

Automated: A flow triggered automatically by an event, like an email arriving or a file changing.

Button: A flow triggered manually by a button you press.

Scheduled: A flow that runs at a set time, either once or as a recurring action.

Learning Modules

Get an introduction to Microsoft Flow and how to create your own flows. These learning modules will give you a guided walkthrough of the Flow environment and how to use it to streamline processes, automate repetitive tasks, and create custom workflows.
