New Feature: Teams Private Channels

Private channels in Microsoft Teams create focused spaces for collaboration within your teams. Anyone, including guests, can be added as a member of a private channel as long as they are already members of the team.

Right now, any team owner or member can create a private channel by clicking on the '...' next to your Team name and selecting Add Channel.

In July of this year we announced self-service Teams creation for designated campus technical support contacts.

We are excited to announce two big changes with Microsoft Teams on campus - audio conference phone numbers and guest access! These two features will further enable campus users to communicate and collaborate with anyone, even if they don't have an Office 365 mailbox or use Teams. 

Teams Audio Conferencing Phone Numbers

Beginning on July 29, designated campus technical support contacts will be granted access to create Microsoft Teams via the “join or create a team” option in both the desktop and web clients. Microsoft Teams is the hub for teamwork in Office 365, with all of your team chats, files, meetings, and apps living together in a single shared workspace.
